HISTORIC FACT: The land which is now home to The Place was owned in colonial times by Charles Carroll of Carrollton, who served as a delegate to the Continental Congress and was the longest-lived (and last surviving) signatory of the Declaration of Independence.

Surrounded by woodlands and pastures, The Place sits along the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay, near historic Annapolis, Maryland. The privacy of the setting combined with the magic of expansive water views create a relaxed and discreet environment where relationships are built, creativity is fostered, and ideas unleashed. The Place offers a variety of flexible, casual indoor meeting spaces. In addition, larger gatherings of up to 100 people can be accommodated when utilizing the entire property.
The Boathouse at The Place
Situated at the end of one of the longest private piers on the Chesapeake Bay, The Boathouse accommodates up to 15 people for meetings, workshops, private dinners and receptions. It’s also an ideal, fully-equipped refuge for artists, authors, couples and others who come to The Place on a solo retreat to “get away.” The Boathouse operates year-round and is fully equipped with high-speed WIFI, kitchen and restroom. The Main House at The Place
Overlooking expansive views of the Chesapeake Bay, the Main House includes two ideal gathering areas: an enclosed, screened meeting room or dining area, and a casual meeting space around the stone fireplace. The Main House operates year-round and is fully equipped for catering and private receptions. High-speed WIFI is maintained throughout. (up to 20 people)
The Pavilion at The Place
Offering a fun outdoor gathering place for larger groups, The Pavilion is a separate, fully-covered screened facility which includes a large capacity stone barbecue center and staging area. (up to 75 people)
Outdoor Event Areas at The Place
Frequently we are asked about the availability of outdoor space to function as an event area. Shaded by 50-year old majestic oak trees, The Place provides 500 feet of waterfront with expansive open space ideal for outdoor activities, receptions, games, and tented events. (up to 125 people)
Waterfront Lodging at The Place
The Place is most ideal for smaller groups and solo guests. It can also comfortably provide overnight accommodations for up to 15 people.
The main house has four private bedrooms, ideal for small groups of 6-8 people. Yet every year many larger groups enthusiastically return – loving the camaraderie, community and fun of utilizing the entire property.
