URBAN PEAK IMPACT REPORT 2010-11
“As we expand and refine our program offering, and leverage our key service provider partnerships,” says Urban Peak CEO, Kay Ramachandran, “we are able to serve more homeless youth and create greater impact in our community.”
Since 1988, Urban Peak has had a profound impact on the lives of homeless youth. Some would say Urban Peak saves lives. From street outreach to education to health to housing, every day we seek to serve our mission to the best of our abilities. And as we continue to meet the needs of this unique population, we also improve how we track our impact.
According to Krista McNamara, Manager of Program Evaluation, “We are focusing more program outcomes and not just the outputs, or service delivery volumes. For instance, we have begun looking at the number of youth who participate in our GED program compared with the number of youth who actually receive their GED. This type of evaluation will help us better understand what’s working and where there are gaps.” Here’s a sneak peek at FY2011:
Output
# of Youth Who Met Basic Needs Through Shelter Care 468
Outcome
% of YouthWho Exited to Safe and Stable Environments 58%
Output
# of Youth Participating in GED 346
Outcome
# of Youth Obtaining GED 79
Output
# of Youth Who Participated in Job Readiness Training 247
Outcome
# of Youth Who Obtained Employment 165
Perhaps the best outcome of them all for FY2011 is that Urban Peak served 2,380 youth across our programs, and increase of 25% over last year!
An Urban Peak Annual Impact Report is currently being produced and will be available for the community early 2012. |
