MAVERICK THINKERS is a special event that celebrates hope — a transforming power that can be seen throughout Urban Peak in the faces of the young people served. Every day we see hope in the faces of youth obtaining their first job, completing their GED, performing their poetry or moving in to their first apartment. These kinds of miracles happen daily, thanks to the creative leadership, dedication and commitment of ordinary people with extraordinary spirit. Urban Peak annually recognizes leaders of the community that embody this spirit.
This year we are honoring WALTER ISENBERG, president and CEO of Sage Hospitality. Isenberg will be honored for his dedication and commitment to health and youth services. He is recognized for his out-of-the-box thinking and outstanding contributions to our community.
Isenberg co-founded Sage Hospitality in 1984. Sage has been consistently recognized for its ability to “give back” to the communities it represents. As an illustration, Sage was the first recipient of Marriott International’s Spirit to Serve Award, given annually to a franchise partner that lives its vision to be an outstanding corporate citizen. Sage has also been recognized for its commitment to customer service, receiving excellence in Service awards at many of its hotels.
Isenberg is a member of the American Hotel Lodging Association
Government Affairs committee as well as the Renaissance and Starwood Owner Advisory Boards. Active in the community, Mr. Isenberg currently serves on the boards of the Denver Metro Convention and Visitors Bureau, The Downtown Denver Partnership, The Children’s Hospital Foundation and The Rose Community Foundation.
Isenberg joins a distinguished list of past honorees that includes Anne Warhover, Judi Wagner, Jim Bye, Gail Klapper, Noel Ginsburg, Frederick Mayer, Sam Gary and The Haynes family.
